he Central Board of Secondary Education will be conducting the 11th Edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on 16/09/2018 (Sunday) for a candidate to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII. Here's short detailed of notification:

Last Date for Application: 27.08.2018
Last Date for Payment: 30.08.2018
Exam Date: Notified Soon
Correction Period: 06.09.2018 to 15.09.2018
Last date for Fee Difference Payment (Correction Period): upto 18.09.2018

Application Fee:

  • General / OBC : Only Paper - I or II- Rs 700 /- | Both Paper - Rs 1200 /-
  • SC / ST / PWD : Only Paper - I or II - Rs 350 /- | Both Paper Rs 600 /-

Eligibility Criteria:

Education Qualification:

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. OR
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  • “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)”

NOTE: The candidates those who passed B.Ed qualification and already applied for Paper–II as per the eligibility and have already paid necessary fee as specified may also apply now under the amendment for both the papers viz Paper-I and Paper-II. Those who wish to apply for Paper I also, now may do so during the correction period which is extended till 15-09-2018 i.e. from 06-09-2018 (Thursday) to 15-09-2018 (Saturday) by remitting necessary difference in fee as stated in the CTET-2018 Information Bulletin under Point no. 15

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.
  • Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23 rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.
